Requirements of Membership

Thank you for considering joining our growing network. By joining as a member of the UK Green Building Council, you are making a statement that your organisation takes sustainability seriously and that you are actively participating in a network of organisations with whom you share expertise and collaboratively influence industry direction.

As such, UKGBC requires its member organisations to confirm their commitment to the following:

ALL UKGBC MEMBERS

  1. UKGBC members must actively support the UKGBC mission to radically improve the sustainability of the built environment by transforming the way it is planned, designed, constructed, maintained, repurposed, and operated.
  2. UKGBC members must take action to mitigate their organisation’s own contribution to climate change.

Organisations seeking to join UKGBC must demonstrate alignment with the above during the online application process, by providing links to a location on their company website where this is best demonstrated. For example, this might be the company mission statements, its sustainability strategy or reporting, examples or case studies of its work, projects, product or service offering etc. An alternative route is available to micro businesses who do not operate a website.

All UKGBC members are encouraged, but not required, to join the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign.

GOLD LEAF MEMBERS

In addition to the above, all organisations seeking to join UKGBC as a Gold Leaf member must also be a member of the Race to Zero. Find out if your organisation is part of the campaign here.

If you have questions about UKGBC’s membership requirements, please get in touch.
