This webinar will highlight the various solutions available to help with optimisation of commercial buildings to reduce energy consumption.

UKGBC’s recent Commercial Retrofit project highlights optimisation as a significant step in decarbonising our buildings. On average, optimisation alone can result in a one third reduction in energy use intensity. This involves ensuring the building’s systems and appliances are operating as efficiently and effectively as possible and that their operation more accurately aligns with building use. UKGBC is therefore running Optimisation Learning Labs which involves collaborating with partners to understand challenges (like lack of data transparency, inappropriate metering of energy, split incentives and lack of collaboration) and try and find potential solutions.

As well as this, many technological solutions have been emerging over recent years in this area, including sensors and hardware, energy monitoring, autonomous control and tenant engagement (to name a few). UKGBC’s Solutions & Innovation team have been continuously profiling these in our Solutions Library.

UKGBC is therefore running this cross-team webinar to showcase some of the innovative solutions available to help built environment practitioners optimise their buildings.

Why attend?

  • Understand some of the optimisation solutions available.
  • Have the opportunity to ask follow-up questions directly to solution providers.
  • Learn about optimisation and some of the considerations required.

Who should attend?

Built environment professionals looking to understand tools available for supporting with commercial retrofit. You do not need to be an expert in this area to attend.
