Two members of UKGBC’s Board of Trustees have been appointed Officers of the British Empire (OBE) in King Charles’ first Birthday Honours.

Chair of UKGBC’s Board, Sunand Prasad, receives his OBE for services to Regeneration, while Chris Oglesby, Chief Executive of Bruntwood and a member of UKGBC’s Board has been recognised for services to charity and to Regeneration in the North West of England.

Simon McWhirter, UKGBC Deputy Chief Executive, said:

“We’re delighted that two esteemed members of our Board have been recognised for their distinguished service to the built environment.

“One of the most accomplished and valued leaders in our sector, Sunand has been an integral part of UKGBC’s transformation and growth over the last few years. Alongside his wealth of wider positive impact across the sector, at UKGBC we’re deeply grateful for his strategic counsel, tireless advocacy, and unfailing commitment to a more sustainable UK built environment.

“Chris’ recognition is testament to his success in building a company renowned for driving sustainable progress and development both within the North-West and out across the UK.”

Sunand has held the position of Chair since October 2020 as part of a long and distinguished career that included a tenure as President of the Royal Institute of British Architects and co-founder of an award-winning architecture practice – Peynore & Prasad, and latterly a Partner at Perkins & Will – where he specialised in public projects including residential, healthcare and education. As a Board Member first and more recently as Chair, Sunand is one of UKGBC’s longest-serving leaders.

Chris Oglesby joined UKGBC’s Board in September 2021 as an influential partner with extensive experience and unique vision for regeneration. A trailblazer in terms of delivering high-quality sustainable buildings for the North West, his expertise has been instrumental in UKGBC’s work to upskilling and catalysing locally-led regeneration.
