Please note this event has been postponed and will now take place Monday 26th September.

Join us for this essential policy briefing following Liz Truss’s appointment as Prime Minister. This member-exclusive event will examine what we might expect from the change in government and provide the opportunity for discussion and Q&A to explore priority policies.

The Westminster agenda ahead is busy, from national energy efficiency policies, to legislation in Parliament on Energy Security and planning reform, and major policy development work on the new 2025 Future Homes and Buildings Standard. We’ll be assessing if any of this will be ambitious enough and how can we ensure the major policy gaps are plugged, not least on commercial buildings and embodied carbon.

Despite the huge efforts from many parts of industry, the Government’s advisors the Climate Change Committee recently warned there has been little progress on decarbonising buildings in a decade, largely because of lack of Government action. This can’t go on. With a new Government, our industry needs to find new ways to have its voice heard. We will be asking how UKGBC can help you play a more active role in championing Government action.

Why attend?

This will be an opportunity for members to get up to speed on the latest policy developments and analysis, meet the UKGBC team and also meet colleagues in other member organisations with a similar interest in this agenda.

Who should attend?

The event is open to all UKGBC members with an interest in policy and public affairs.
