Overview

Join us for an interactive workshop where we will dive deep into the topic of how we can finance innovation and help solutions scale.

We’re inviting UKGBC members, including innovators, solution adopters and topic experts, to discuss how risk, insurance and warranties can be both a challenge and a potential opportunity when it comes to scaling innovative solutions in the built environment.

In this Session we will be Exploring Topics Such As

How insurers currently view risk for new construction solutions.
Key barriers to insuring innovative materials, methods, and technologies.
What evidence or assurances insurers need to support scaling.
Ways to de-risk trials (pilots, sandboxes, shared date, staged warranties).
Role of standards, certification, and clear liability in reducing perceived risk.
Opportunties for collaborative risk-sharing models and policy support.

Insights from this session will be used to inform UKGBC’s research for the ‘Scaling Sustainable Solutions for the Built Environment Initiative’.

How the Forum Will Work

This session will last for 1.5 hours and involve interactive discussions to identify meaningful insights and actions. As this is a Forum, we encourage everyone who attends to actively participate and contribute to the conversation.

These sessions are designed to go beyond talk – they’re about finding tangible enablers and steps to take to overcome barriers to scaling innovation, which we will then take forward as part of the Scaling Initiative.
