Help Shape the Future of UKGBC – Join the Membership Advisory Group

The Membership Advisory Group (MAG) brings together a diverse mix of UKGBC members to help shape the future of our network. This is your opportunity to share insights, spark ideas, and influence how we grow and support our community.

In the Membership Advisory Group you will:

  • Represent the voice of the wider membership.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our membership structure, fees, and benefits.
  • Collaborate early in the development of new ideas and initiatives.
  • Support UKGBC’s mission to drive industry transformation and deliver impact.

Whilst the Membership Advisory Group (MAG) is an advisory group with no formal governance role, its influence is significant. Your input will help guide UKGBC’s strategic direction and ensure we continue to meet our charitable objectives.

This isn’t just a sounding board, it’s a space for forward-thinking, proactive members who want to make a difference.

What’s Expected of MAG Members

Joining the Membership Advisory Group means playing a key role in shaping UKGBC’s future. Here’s what we ask of the MAG.

Be a strategic voice

Share operational and strategic advice that reflect your organisation and sub-sector.

Champion UKGBC

Represent and promote our mission, vision, and impact across the industry.

Hold a senior role

Members should be in leadership positions (e.g. Head, Director, Senior Manager, Principal) within a UKGBC member organisation.

Commit to a 2-year term

After two years, members will be invited to recommit and continue their contribution.

Make time

Expect to dedicate around 2 hours per month to meetings and related work.

Stay engaged

The role is personal and non-transferable, through substitutions may be made with UKGBC’s prior agreement.
I participate in the UKGBC’s member advisory group because I believe in it’s vital role as a leading voice for sustainability in our built environment. Being part of this group gives me a unique opportunity to influence the direction of an organisation that’s instrumental in transforming our industry. I’d encourage others to join to ensure we maintain the rich diversity of voices that makes the UKGBC so effective, and to actively shape how members will collaborate to address the urgent environmental challenges we face.
