Do you remember learning to ride a bike? There’s lots to think about: pedalling, while steering, breaking, not to mention gears. And of course, there’s the all-important balance.

One person who understands balance – including how to ride a bike – is Yetunde Abdul from UKGBC. But Yetunde is more concerned with the balance of natural systems, such as carbon in our environment, rather than cycling.

In this video, hear from Yetunde and others about how the carbon scales have been tipped, taking our planet out of balance, and with it causing unpredictable weather impacts.

But the solutions are out there. Keep watching to find out what’s already happening and what action you can do to help right the balance.

Time to take action!

  • Advocated for low a carbon approach for all projects – ask yourself: is there a way for this building to reduce carbon? The answer is usually yes!
  • Use your voice – Speak to colleagues and friends about the need to reduce emissions, and you might find an ally.
  • Find out about your organisational carbon targets – what is your organisation currently aiming for when it comes to emissions reductions?
