Retrofit Incentives
A task group report examining policy options for increasing the uptake of home retrofit.

The Retrofit Incentives Task Group was convened in 2012 to develop proposals for a financial incentive which could encourage the take-up of domestic energy efficiency measures. A range of potential incentives were investigated to identify three which could be developed further and form the basis of recommendations.
Following a process of assessing the options, the group agreed on three of the most promising incentives – variable Stamp Duty, variable Council Tax and an Energy Efficiency Feed-in-Tariff. Proposals were developed around these three incentives and economic modelling commissioned to understand their potential impacts on the retrofit market.
