Now in its fifth year, the Advancing Net Zero programme champions the acceleration of net zero buildings to 100% by 2050 through policy advocacy, learning and development and engagement activities and projects covering areas such as embodied carbon, non-domestic retrofit cost evaluation studies, building optimisation, carbon offsetting, renewable energy procurement. As well as setting frameworks for net zero and contributing to standard development (NZCBS) and complimenting target setting and reporting frameworks such as SBTi, RtZ, SECR etc.

Guided by ambitions set out within our UK Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap and supporting industry to secure the UK’s pathway to net zero and in additional to the areas stated the programme will tackle supply chain decarbonisation and more topics as needed to meet the net zero 100% target.

Advancing Net Zero

Created in 2018 as part of a World Green Building Council initiative, UKGBC’s Advancing Net Zero programme has a mission to lead the UK’s transition to a net zero built environment. It has produced leading guidance such as the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Framework and the Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap, whilst working with organisations and experts across the industry.
