This series of three online, engaging, and interactive workshops, are aimed at supporting office owners, occupiers, facilities managers and the consultants that advise them, in understanding when and how, to carry out different phases of commercial retrofit. Each workshop will focus on a different phase: Optimisation, Light Retrofit and Deep Retrofit.

The sessions will explore the primary drivers, key stakeholders and steps involved, potential outcomes and lessons learnt, all illustrated through real-world project examples.

About this Session

Hosted online, but with plenty of opportunity for discussion and interaction, each workshop will be led by UKGBC drawing on the research carried out for our Building the case for net zero: retrofitting office buildings. They will support key stakeholders in understanding what steps they need to take to accelerate the strategic retrofit of the offices they own, occupy, manage or consult on.

At each workshop, we’ll introduce the key concepts and then dive into real-life case studies, hearing from the people who have worked on them.

Delegates can come to the session that’s most relevant to them, or join all three to get an holistic view of the strategic approach to retrofitting office buildings

30th April: Optimisation: Strategies, tools and outcomes
12th June: Light Retrofit: Intermediate steps in a long-term approach
4th July: Deep Retrofit: Maximising the opportunity

The workshops will:

  • Introduce the core concepts around office retrofit
  • Explore optimisation, light retrofit and deep retrofit
  • Introduce specific case studies
  • Provide opportunity for discussion and exploration of the subject.

This series is aimed at office owners, occupiers, facilities managers and consultants who are involved in the retrofit of large commercial buildings.
