UKGBC Launches a New Set of Practical Bitesize Guides
This new set of practical bitesizes guides form part of our Level 1 sustainability learning resources that the UKGBC has created for the built environment sector to develop key sustainability knowledge.
Today, UKGBC has launched a new set of practical bitesize guides.
The new set of two-page guides focus on these topics:
- Certifications: This guide introduces some of the main certifications available in sustainable construction and the principles behind achieving a score or rating.
- Design for Deconstruction: This guide introduces the concept of design for deconstruction, why it’s important, its principles, and considerations to take into account.
- Tackling the Performance Gap: This guide explains what the performance gap is and how to better design for performance.
- Reducing Embodied Ecological Impacts: This guide explains how to reduce embodied ecological impacts caused by resource extraction, manufacturing, production or during any other point in the supply chain.
- Retrofit: This two-pager covers the main principles of domestic and non-domestic retrofit in the built environment.
- Sustainable procurement: This guide explains how to source products for projects in a way that minimises impact to the environment, climate and people.
