The ‘Strategic Partnership’ commences from September 2016, UKGBC and Saint-Gobain will be working closely together as part of their strategic partnership agreement to build awareness and develop knowledge, and skills for a more sustainable built environment.

Saint-Gobain is a world leader in the habitat and construction markets, designing, producing and distributing construction materials and creating innovative solutions. Its sustainability ethos is woven into everything it does – through developing and delivering products that improve the performance of buildings and enhancing the living and working environment – sustainably.

The Key Partnership Strategic goals are:

  1. To train as many people as possible in the building industry on sustainability
  2. Drive a common understanding of sustainable buildings across industry
  3. To encourage and grow thought leadership on sustainability in the built environment (Including Health and Wellbeing).

The partnership aims to achieve these goals through the delivery of a compelling message on sustainable buildings across the 3 learning levels (awareness, understanding, and application) to as many professionals as possible. In doing so facilitating a significant increase in the understanding and application of sustainable practices across the sector.

The programme offers a broad range of skills to widen the industry’s understanding of the impact that creating sustainable buildings can have on the environment and the occupants. Partnering with UKGBC is a great fit for us, as its goals to encourage and grow thought leadership on sustainability in the built environment, as well as the emphasis on comfort, health and wellbeing, perfectly match our vision for the industry.
