Perse Technology
Problem addressed
Without access to accurate, timely, and affordable energy and carbon data, owners and asset managers are not able to optimise the efficiency of their buildings quickly and easily. UKGBC’s Whole Life Carbon Roadmap sees building operational optimisation as a vital step to reduce emissions, with a target of 29% reduced energy intensity for non-domestic buildings by 2030. Without the necessary data available, the right decisions may not be made to effectively cut building operation emissions.
Overview of start-up
Perse Technology provisions real-time data on energy and carbon for grid-connected assets including all UK building types, electric vehicles, and energy generation. Using over 2 billion points of real-time data, Perse can determine actual building metered energy consumption and energy supplier emissions factors for carbon reporting across all market segments and energy meter types. Consumers and businesses can use this data to better understand their energy consumption and emissions and can harnesses this data to reduce costs and carbon. Their solution can also create automated and personalized recommendations, with payback periods based on actual consumption and tariff costs. These can include demand response participation, energy procurement, and efficiency measures, including solar, heat pumps and electric vehicles. The data provided by Perse, sourced from a variety of sources including meter points and EPCs, gives building occupants, owners, managers, and financiers comprehensive market data regardless of location or asset type. They have 100% market coverage without requiring smart meters or hardware. This data is available on the Perse Hub, which is simple to use and easy to navigate, or it can also be integrated into other products and resources using secure and scalable APIs. For users pursuing building retrofits or renewable energy certificates, Perse also offers a marketplace to help users connect to approved assessors, installers, and suppliers. This marketplace offers a platform to provide support for renewable energy projects, retrofit measures, or other building upgrades.
What makes the start-up innovative?
Perse supports the green building agenda by providing access to energy consumption data, with carbon intensity and cost, for every type of meter point in the UK. Consumption data can be as granular as every thirty minutes if supported by the meter. Perse also provides market-based carbon base line reporting to actionable monitoring of building performance and analysis for low carbon technology recommendations, without the need for expensive site visits.
How the start-up has been designed to scale-up quickly
All the data provided by Perse Technology is cloud-based using APIs or a simple-to-use UI Platform. There is no need for expensive licenses nor integrations.
