problem addressed
Typically, carbon emissions reporting is based on architects designs during the initial planning phase. However, this does not represent the actual carbon of the built asset (i.e. what materials/quantities are used during the construction phase). Gathering all the required data and then ensuring it is of the right quality is difficult and time-consuming costing many days/weeks of effort. Aquvi’s product automates the process of collecting, processing, analysing and accurately calculating the carbon emissions of materials used during the building phase in real time.
overview of start-up
The carbon platform enables the construction sector to decarbonise supply chains and meet sustainability targets and is designed for sustainability, procurement, finance and onsite project teams. Project teams on a building site take photos of delivery notes with the Mobile App (IOS and Android). These are then processed by AI and Machine learning algorithms to accurately calculate the carbon emissions of each material line item. This data is presented in a dashboard via a Web App that can used by sustainability and procurement teams to manage and measure the overall carbon of each built asset.
what makes the start-up innovative?
The viewings platform has a very low bandwidth yet can cope with very data hungry digital scans. Capturing the site can be done using a mobile phone, 360 camera, Matterport or a Leica BLK, depending on the complexity of the site (spaces) being captured. This creates a 3D digital twin of the project site details.
how the start-up has been designed to scale up
The solution is a SaaS cloud solution and can easily be scaled for 100’s of customers very quickly. It has been architected with security and scalability features and is designed as a global solution that can be easily setup and scaled.
