As part of our Advancing Net Zero programme, UKGBC is running a project to produce guidance to improve Scope 3 reporting for the development and operation of buildings. UKGBC will be hosting a kick off roundtable for the project on Tuesday 5th February at UKGBC, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT.

Commercial real estate owners and developers have an increasing interest in voluntary reporting of annual Scope 3 emissions. However, there is currently a lack of clear guidance on accounting for whole-life building emissions within Scope 3 reporting, which often results in poor screening exercises, incorrect assessments and significant under-reporting.

This project will produce a focused guidance document for companies who own and develop commercial real estate, with a standard process for reporting Scope 3 emissions which accounts for the whole life impact of developments as well as operational and tenant emissions.

The guidance document will be developed through industry workshops and engagement in the first half of 2019. This first roundtable on 5th February will bring together experts and practitioners working with commercial real estate and carbon reporting to gather early input into the project plan.

This roundtable is an invitation only event. For more information please contact Richard.Twinn@ukgbc.org
