Hosted by Rebecca Pow MP, Parliamentary Private Secretary in DEFRA, the event will launch a new briefing paper, which we hope will be a useful resource for Parliamentarians, planners and construction professionals alike. Drawing on residents’ feedback and observations on good design quality, it will encompass new analysis of the design factors that bring about a healthier and more satisfactory home.

The briefing paper aims to demonstrate that the Government’s target of building 300,000 new homes a year can be delivered in a way that promotes the health and wellbeing of the people who will live in them. It will also show that good design can be achieved at little or no extra cost.

A lively panel discussion – bringing together Parliamentarians, academics and built environment professionals – will be followed by a chance to network over afternoon tea from 4pm.
