New government - what to expect?

About this event 

Join us as we analyse what the new Labour Government means for the green buildings agenda. They have a huge mandate for change, a big focus on planning reform, new homes and Warm Homes plan with double the budget of the last administration.

With time running out to halt climate and nature breakdown, the priorities, policies and every action of this Government needs to count.

In this interactive session shortly after the King’s Speech, experts from across the UKGBC team and member Taskforce will share insights on the opportunities and challenges the new Government agenda offers and faces.

Topics will include: 

• Policy priorities of the new Government
• Who’s who – new ministers and parliamentary intake
• What we’re looking for from the first 100 days
• What role there is for industry in offering expertise and visible support for bold long-term decisions

We’ll also hear reflections and a Q and A with participants.

Net Zero Carbon Buildings: Transitioning from Framework to new Standard

This online learning event will inform built environment stakeholders about the transition from UKGBC’s 2019 Net Zero Carbon Buildings: A Framework Definition to the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard over the next year, before the first full version of the Standard – which will allow formal verification - is published. It will also introduce UKGBC’s ongoing project to evolve the Framework Definition, allowing the updated version to be used alongside the Standard.
