To support the goals of the global Advancing Net Zero project, WorldGBC is developing a Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment to promote leadership in decarbonising the built environment. Businesses, Organisations, Cities, Regions and States will be eligible to join, and encouraged to demonstrate action that will stimulate markets to deliver net zero carbon buildings at scale.

This commitment has been developed under the Energy Productivity 100 (EP100) family of commitments, led by The Climate Group, and will be launched at the Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS) in San Francisco (September 12-14th 2018). The Summit will bring together leaders to showcase climate action taking place around the world, and inspire deeper commitments from industry and national governments, in support of the Paris Agreement.

The commitment was developed using the guiding principles of the Advancing Net Zero Framework and in conjunction with focused and dedicated industry expertise coming from both within the Green Building Council community and wider industry stakeholders.

A consultation is currently seeking views on the draft commitment and UKGBC will be hosting a member focus group on Thursday 14th June, 10.00 – 12.00 to provide feedback.

Please contact Richard Twinn if you are interested in attending the focus group.
