Net Zero Storytelling

What personal leadership, behaviours and skills are needed for effective carbon leadership in the built environment?

In this course, we explore the need to accelerate sustainability leadership, and discuss the collaboration and behaviours needed to create systems change in our sector. This session aims to promote and provide greater reach and access to leadership insights wider than the UKGBC leadership programmes, which target specific cohorts and associates’ outcomes.

What’s the toughest obstacle to achieving net zero in your business? Maybe it’s in materials, processes, design? Many leaders have told us that these turned out to be the low-hanging fruit, and that their progress hit a wall after addressing these tangibles.  Where they needed to go next was more complex and tougher – changing the mindset and collective behaviour within their organisations to drive innovation and transformation, at the speed needed.

This workshop will help you kick start your 2022 – to influence cultural transformation in your organisation, such as designing effective systemic change programmes, leading from purpose and powerful storytelling. Bringing insights from neuroscience, psychology and applied research as well as live examples drawn from frontline experience in major organisations, you’ll leave with some potent tools to engage your organisation to accelerate action towards net zero.

An initial preview of the ‘UKGBC Sustainability Leadership Companion’ – a playbook for sustainability leadership – will also be provided.

Speakers

  • Dr Alexandra Stubbings, Managing Director, Talik and Co.
  • Larry Stubbings, Associate Director, Talik and Co.
