Our planet is in crisis, and without further decisive action, temperatures could rise by between 2.2-3.5°C by 2100. The built environment has a critical role to play in addressing the climate crisis, limiting global warming to 1.5°C and enabling the UK to transition to net zero by 2050. UKGBC is at the forefront of the transition to a net zero, climate resilient and regenerative built environment.

UK Green Building Council is the industry network with a mission to radically transform the built environment in the face of the climate, nature and cost of living crises. We champion bold government action and convene the ambitious sections of industry to drive progress at pace and scale.

We are looking for an impact-oriented Marcomms Manager to drive the work of UKGBC’s Climate and Nature Programmes and wider portfolio. This is an industry facing position with a focus on the preparation and delivery of Marcomms plans for strategically prioritised workstreams.

Responsibilities also include driving UKGBC’s activities around key climate milestone moments such as COP28+.

The right candidate will have substantial experience in business-focused climate change or sustainability communications, and proven ability to be able to turn complex ideas into effective strategies and narratives that drive action. Good knowledge of the property and construction industry, and in particular knowledge and understanding of climate change mitigation and climate resilience in a built environment context is desirable. Passion for UKGBC’s mission, and a personal drive to succeed within it, is a must.
