This member-only workshop will review the Government's Future Buildings Standard consultation.

Following the publication of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government Future Buildings Standard consultation, this workshop will convene a range of UKGBC members from across the supply chain to draw on expertise to help us prepare our response to this major consultation, which covers:

Non-domestic buildings

  • A vision for the Future Buildings Standard from 2025
  • Government’s preferred energy efficiency uplift for 2021 – a 27% reduction in carbon emissions compared with Part L 2013

Domestic buildings

  • Reconsulting on a new Fabric Energy Efficiency Standard

Both Non-domestic and Domestic

  • Improvements to standards when work is carried out in existing buildings
  • Changes to Part F (ventilation) for new and existing buildings
  • A new overheating mitigation requirement for new homes and new non-domestic buildings classed as ‘residential’
