To coincide with Built Environment Day at COP28, and to mark two years since the launch of the UK’s Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap UKGBC has reconvened our project partners to provide an update on the built environment sector’s progress towards meeting our net zero trajectory.

UKGBC’s Whole Life Carbon Roadmap brought together more than 100 organisations to set out a common vision and agreed set of actions for achieving net zero carbon in the construction, operation and demolition of buildings and infrastructure.

At COP27 we emphasised that time was running out and called for national government leadership, yet recent policy rollbacks risk undermining progress the built environment sector has already made.

This year in the run up to the general election, we call for greater ambition, clarity and certainty from government, and for industry to leverage its powerful, collective voice to focus on the changes we need.
