Event taking place on Tuesday 21 September 2.00-3.00pm

Circular economy principles can help build resilience in cities. One of the ways circular principles can be applied is through materials reuse and high-value recycling, which can reduce the environmental impact associated with demand for virgin materials. But currently the practice is more of an exception than the status quo.

This webinar organised by two of the CIRCuIT London partners – ReLondon and UKGBC – will aim to explore ways of making reuse and high-value recycling a normal practice across London.

Dr Purva Tavri (ReLondon) will present key findings and recommendations from CIRCuIT research into reuse and high-value recycling in London including:

  • Current trends and practices
  • Benefits
  • Barriers and
  • Associated recommendations for stakeholders in supply chain.

This will be followed by insights from two guest speakers outlining how they have become more resilient through reuse and recycling practices.

We will end with a lively panel discussion and a chance for audience Q&A.

About CIRCuIT
CIRCuIT is a collaborative project funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme (grant agreement no 821201), involving 31 ambitious partners across the built environment chain in Copenhagen, Hamburg, Helsinki Region and London. Running until 2023, the project will support the creation of regenerative cities by implementing sustainable and circular construction practices. Through demonstrations, events and other activities, we aim to bridge the gap between theory, practice and policy and showcase how circular construction approaches can be scaled and replicated across Europe to enable cities to build more sustainably and transition to a circular economy.
