The Government now has a 15% energy saving target for the sector by 2030 as well as the 2050 economy-wide net zero target but no coherent plan and no commitment to the funding needed to deliver it. The Labour Party has committed £6 billion per year to domestic retrofit but this budget is likely to come under intense pressure in the context of a rocky economy.

This project will answer the key questions – how much investment is needed from the government and where should it be prioritised; and what combination of other policies is needed to upgrade every home.

We want to draw on the expertise of members and the sector to contribute to the analysis and, to have a real impact with policymakers, we want your help in building the broadest possible alliance bringing together industry, local authorities, academics and NGOs in a united call for the long-term government investment and policies needed.

We plan to launch the analysis in late spring/ early summer 2023 with continued political engagement through to the end of the year. This webinar will introduce the project, its scope and objectives and outline how to get involved.
